Brooke at 1 week!

We can't believe our little girl is a week old already!  So far she has been such a good baby, she loves to look around at everything and hardly makes a peep crying wise!  She sure has a lot to say though!!  She makes all sorts of coos and grunts all day long, quite the talker already!  She is a great eater too, weighing close to 9 1/2 lbs at her one week check up and already grown 1/2 inch in length, measuring at 22 inches!  I don't want to jinx it, but so far she has been a great sleeper, I sure hope she keeps that up!!  (Brooke loves her miracle blanket...just like her brother did!  I have a feeling she is going to be swaddled for a while too!!)  She loves to cuddle and even lets her big brother hold her when he is in the mood!!  Here's some pictures of our little Brooke at one week old!

The first few days...

The first few days with Brooke home were a lot of fun.  We got to hang out together with Brian, and even had a family get together the night before he left, it was so great seeing everyone!  Brian left for the airport on Saturday morning, which was so sad, the 5 days we got to have him here sure went fast, but we were so thankful for every minute we got!!  Not much longer until we make our trip out there to go be with him in Japan though, as soon as Brooke is 8 weeks old and she has her passport, we are off!!  We can't wait and know this part is going to go by so fast! So far, none of our kids have liked pacifiers...we always get them at the hospital when they are born and of course they never want anything to do with them...that is until Austin saw Brooke's...he thinks it's the greatest toy!!  He kept stealing it and running around with it laughing!  It looked so funny with him and this pink pacifier in his mouth!

Date Night!

2 nights before Brian had to leave to head back to Japan, we took Grandma and Pop-Pop up on their offer to babysit the kids so we could go out on a date together!  It had been a long time since we had gone out to dinner just us two!  We had a yummy mexican dinner together then hurried home so we could spend as much time together with our kids as possible :)  It was a great night!  Thank you Grandma and Pop-Pop!!

First Bath!

Brooke had her fast bath and after the initial "I'm not so sure about this!" moment she had, she actually loved it!  She was so good in the water and just laid there looking around taking everything in!  Austin grabbed his step stool to help me get her dressed after her bath, it was so cute!  He is quite the big brother, he loves to help out with his little sister!!

Going home...

After our night's stay in the hospital, we were ready to pack up our things and get our little girl home (well, the next closest thing for us right now, which is Grandma and Pop-Pop's!  We won't be going "home" until October!)  We had all of our check-ups and are both cleared to leave!  Brian did a great job of getting Brooke dressed in her going home outfit, we both can't believe how different it is changing/dressing a baby again!  Austin seems so big compared to Brooke!!  You forget how tiny they are at the beginning ;)
