Being a mom...

Austin woke up from his nap today not his usual self. I could hear him from behind his door crying softly; he never does that. Usually he wakes up as happy as can be ready to play, or super cranky, moaning that he doesn't want to get out of bed. But he never wakes up sad. I went in and hugged him and asked him why he was crying and he told me: "I crying because I missed you mom-mom." It just melted my heart. There's nothing in the world like being a mom. Nothing. It's hands down the best thing ever.

Sorry blog...

I know it's been a while, I've been cheating on you with a little thing called summer...(and a little TV show Brian got me hooked on called Dexter). We've been outside on walks, on bike rides, at the beach, watching sunsets from a place called the Big Banana, enjoying firework shows, in the blow up pool out on our balcony (gotta love apartment living!), blowing bubbles, playing outside at the parks, splashing in fountains, at baseball games...you know, doing everything we can to enjoy summer and all it has to offer. Which means being inside on my computer has taken a much needed back seat.

And so much for trying to blog at night when the kiddos have gone to bed, that time has now been consumed by the TV show Dexter. Brian got me hooked, and I can't stop watching the darn show. Is it creepy that a show about a serial killer is so good?! Sorry. Eventually I will get to posting all the fun pictures I have, probably in one of my notorious thousand picture posts, but right now, being on the computer is like the last thing on my mind! I am taking full advantage of being so lucky to get to have days like these, of being able to just play and have fun with our kids all day long! I know this time is precious, and I am so fortunate to have it. So I promise I will return eventually!

Absolutely loving these lazy days of summer!

All Star Break in Japan...

Even though Brian was gone for over half of the All Star Break, we still got some good quality time with him and loved just hanging out as a family, doing fun things other than baseball (well except for the All Star game)!! We went to the beach, took Austin to ride his bike, relaxed at home, enjoyed cooking some yummy dinners together and finished off the last day with a BBQ at Brian's catching coach's house! The kids didn't leave Brian alone, they loved having him home! It's hard to believe the all star break is over and the end of the baseball season is around the corner!

Fun with Dad at home...

Headed to the beach..

BBQ time...
Brooke loved all the food at the BBQ, all the ladies were impressed with how much she ate!

Austin enjoying his rice!

It was smokin hot outside, all the guys were given towels to put around their necks!

They managed to find the toys in the house!

Austin playing with his new friends!
