Road trip!

Going back to AZ!

Austin and Hunter catching some zzz's during the road trip!

Austin pouring Puffs all over the car and Hunter :)

Brian and his team are on an eight day road trip, so Austin, Hunter and I decided to hop in the car and head back to our home in AZ!  I was a little nervous (A: the road from Vegas to Phoenix is mostly 2 lanes, and B: this is the first road trip I have taken with Austin by myself!)  The last two road trips we have taken with Austin, my mom has been with me and acted as a built in DVD player, keeping Austin entertained and happy :)  Thanks Mom!!  So how would he do for 5 hours without Grandma to keep him amused?!  He did SO good!!  I am so proud of my children; Hunter and Austin are such the travelers :) Austin slept the first two hours then kept himself active with whatever he could :)  I kept handing toys back to him (thankfully I kept a stash up front with me!) and he kept throwing them at the dog, who was sulking because he had to share the back seat with Austin :)  Mind you, Hunter is used to getting the whole back seat to himself, so the little cramped space he now has doesn't make him that happy!  It was really cute, at one point when Austin was napping, Hunter had his head propped up on Austin's car seat, and they "snuggled!"  I guess Hunter finally gave in to the fact that he had to share the back seat!  Austin also thought it was hilarious to dump a half full jar of Puffs all over Hunter...poor Hunter, he had puffs stuck in his fur for the last 2 hours of the drive :)  If only I had a dollar for every puff I cleaned out of the car and for every bug on the windshield, we'd be millionaires!  Well, we made it home safe and sound and are enjoying being back in our own beds for a few days...then we get to do the drive all over again!! Keep your fingers crossed that the drive back goes just as good!!

Austin's first haircut!

What a big boy!  Yesterday we took Austin to get his very first haircut!  He probably could have used one a while ago (hello mullet!!), but we were waiting for Brian's first day off of the season so we could all go as a family.  We took him to the local Snips and Clips for Kids and Austin even got to sit in a red sports car seat!  He loved the steering wheel, what a great distraction :)  Austin handled it very well.  He didn't cry and only got a little uncertain when the lady cutting his hair had to hold his head still so she could buzz around his neck and ears.  She even added a little gel and spiked it up a bit, making Austin look even more grown up :) (Personally, I think she was just trying to cover up the crooked cutting job she did on his bangs...think Lloyd Christmas from Dumb & Dumber!  Sorry Austin...but we still think you look cute!)  All in all, Austin's first hair cut was a success and he looks very handsome!

Pre-haircut...look at those long bangs!

It's official!! Austin's first haircut!

Austin not so sure why this lady is cutting his hair off!

Looks like someone likes what they see in the mirror!!  This haircut thing isn't so bad after all!

Daddy and me showing off our new haircuts!

Daddy, Mommy and me celebrating my first haircut :)

No more mullet!! :)

Austin's haircut without all the gel :)

Did we mention Hunter got his haircut today too!!  (Can you tell?!)

Viva Las Vegas!

Hello Las Vegas!  We are finally settled into our new home for the summer.  Brian is starting off the baseball season playing for the Las Vegas 51's (the AAA team for the LA Dodgers).  The last 3 weeks have been very eventful; getting moved in, seeing the Vegas sights, baseball games, pools to splash in...needless to say, we have been a very busy family!!

Austin loves Las Vegas!!

Our new neighbors!!  Apparently there was a little domestic dispute in our new apartment complex!  Our apartment was surrounded by SWAT and police cars!! (Don't worry, it wasn't us!!)  Thankfully no one was hurt, but what an eventful day!!

Talk about some good front porch entertainment!!  (I promise, we are staying in a good place!!)  All this happened right in front of our apartment, we couldn't help but be nosey neighbors and snap some pictures of all the chaos!!

Mommy and me at the MGM Grand Lion exhibit!  I got to see big Lions!!  I also loved seeing all the lights in the casino!!  If only I was big enough to play with all those shiny machines!!

Austin clapping after a yummy meal!

Grandma P and Austin having fun in the pool!  Grandma helped us get all moved in and we owe her big time for all she did for us!! Thank you Grandma!! :)

Softball is exhausting!!  Austin taking a power nap during Allyson's softball tournament!

Allyson's biggest fan!  Allyson is such a great player, we had a great time cheering her on!

Brian's cousin Allyson had a softball tournament not very far from us in Las Vegas!!  Austin got to meet Aunt Marianne, Uncle Greg and Cousin Allyson for the very first time and go see Allyson play at her tournament!!

Austin at his very first baseball game of the season!  Go Daddy!

Mommy and Me at the "Oover" Dam?!  What state is that in?!  :)  Taking a pit stop at the Hoover Dam while in route from Arizona to Las Vegas.

Who needs toys?

Who needs toys when there are toilet paper rolls and suitcases to play with!!  Austin just discovered how totally entertaining unrolling toilet paper can be!! I swear, you turn your back for one second...

Austin is also going through an "unpacking" phase.  He loves to empty things out of containers...just recently he decided to be a big help and unpack his entire suitcase.  He then realized what a great hiding place his suitcase could be and played a game of hide and seek with me while burrowed in his bag!  Too cute!!  What an active little guy we have on our hands :)

What a mess!

Austin so proud of his unpacking skills!

Now if only he could learn to fold!

P.S.  I have a video of Austin playing hide and seek, but am having problems downloading it.  Once I figure out how to do it,  I will make sure to post it!! :)

Just do it already!

My dear friend Kelsey has been on me to start a blog of my own, so I can keep an online journal of my beautiful family and all of our exciting adventures.  I promised her I would start one when our son Austin celebrated his first birthday in May.  I figured that would be a great milestone to start with.  However, I am feeling really motivated, and I guess there is no time like the present to start something new!   To be honest, I have really been wanting to start one for a while now, but it's a huge comittment that I needed to make sure I was ready for.  I mean the pressure of keeping up to date posts is huge!!  Have you seen all the blogs out there?!!  I am secretly hooked on reading other people's blogs, and nothing is worse than checking in on one of your favorites and not finding a new entry.  I have decided that having a blog is going to be very special, for it will document all of the many things that one day we might forget about, and it will be really fun to look back and see all the things we have experienced.  With that said, I will do my best to keep our blog as current as possible and as fun as possible :)  So enjoy the adventures of the Falky family...Brian (my wonderful husband), Austin (our almost 11 month old son!), Hunter (our dog the crazy Wheaten Terrier), and me, Sandy :)
