The Delivery...

We were hoping to get called into the hospital yesterday to be induced, but the day came and went without a call.  We were awoken to the phone ringing at 5:30am today though, and were checked in and hooked up to the hospital bed by 6:30am!  I was induced with Austin as well and it took a really long time for the whole process...19 hours total to be exact! So we were prepared for today to be a long day of waiting to dilate, toughing through contractions until I gave in to get the epidural and just waiting for the baby to arrive!  It went by way faster this time around though, and by 5:51pm to be exact, our little girl was born!

The delivery went pretty good, I had a slight hiccup with the epidural though, (my worst nightmare come true! lol!) it didn't seem to work at all on my contractions and as I finally passed the 5 centimeter mark (which took me a while to do) the contractions not only got way more intense, but she decided she wanted to be born ASAP!!  I went from 5 to 10 centimeters in like 30 minutes and finally got my epidural working just minutes before I started pushing!  Thank you anesthesiologist!!!

It was amazing seeing her for the first time, she has a head of hair for sure, which came out dark and curly, but sure smoothed out straight after her first bath, so we won't know if she got her mommy's curls just quite yet ;)  She is a GREAT eater, it didn't take her long at all to figure that out, and she loves to look around and stare at us!  She hardly cries, not even making a peep when she got her first shots!!  And so far she is a GREAT sleeper too ;)  Hopefully this will continue past the first few weeks ;)

It was so wonderful being able to have Brian here with me, I am so thankful he was able to come home and be with us for Brooke's birth.  We're already dreading saying goodbye to him when he has to go back to Japan on Saturday!

At the hospital!

We finally got the call to come in to the hospital! After a lot of waiting around for the phone to ring, we got the call at 5:30 this morning and it didn't take us long to get here! Things are going well so far, our baby girl should be here sometime later this afternoon, we can't wait!

Checking in to the hospital bright and early on a gorgeous Washington day!

Yay! I am going to be a big brother today!!

I thought this was a cute picture of Austin trying to pat my belly as I posed for my 39 week photo!!

Reunited!

Today is the best day!  We just picked up Brian from the airport and it was the greatest feeling in the world seeing him again!  Austin went absolutely crazy when he saw Brian, screaming "Dadda, Dadda!!" over and over again, reaching his hands out for him in excitement!  It just melted my heart!  Hunter went crazy too and practically tackled Brian when he saw him!  We are just overjoyed to be together as a family again!

Austin with his Daddy again!
I missed watching them snuggle with each other!

All my boys back together!!
Austin and Hunter haven't left Brian's side ;)  It just the cutest thing seeing them together again!

Not only are we all back together again, but it's also absolutely gorgeous here today...what a perfect sunny day to be hanging out together as a family!!  We couldn't be more blessed!

*Just a quick baby girl update...the hospital got really busy last night and all the beds are full, so instead of reporting there this morning, we are probably going to check in sometime late afternoon or early evening...we are just waiting for them to call us!!  We will keep you posted!*

Stealing from his sister already...

I came into my room today and found Austin like this:
He had taken his baby sister's new blankie off of her crib and cuddled up with it on the floor!  It was just about the cutest thing I have ever seen!  He also decided that it needed a little breaking in and sucked on the corners leaving his mark ;)  So much for it being all washed and clean for her arrival!! ;)  Already trying to steal things from his little sister and she isn't even born!!  LOL!!

Night Night Bob!

A funny Austin story...

At night when I am putting Austin to bed, we have a routine where we say "Night Night" to everyone in our family.  The other night as we were saying our "night nights," Austin blurts out:  "Night Night Bob!"  I sat there thinking, who the heck is Bob?!  Then I realized, he was saying Night Night to Bob the Builder!!  It was so funny, I totally started laughing, and he has done it almost every night since!!  I guess he sure likes Bob!!

Mommy, Belly and Me...

We are getting so close to bringing our baby girl into this world!!  Brian is flying back to be with us this Monday and I am scheduled to go into the hospital that same day to be induced to have our little girl!  We are SO excited to see Brian again, it has been 11 1/2 weeks since we have seen each other...way, way too long!  He gets to be with us for 5 whole days, we are just so happy and thankful!!

I have been trying to "prepare" Austin these past few weeks for his baby sister's arrival, always pointing to my belly and saying "baby," showing him all of her stuff and where she is going to sleep and such...but I know no matter what we do, it's going to be a huge transition for him.  It has been so incredibly cute watching him react to my belly though, and I have absolutely loved watching him pat and kiss his baby sister in my belly as it grows bigger and bigger ;)

Austin talking to his Baby Sister in my belly ;)

Cuddling up to his baby sister!
He loves resting his head on my belly, I am glad it came in good use!! :)

Giving Mommy's belly kisses ;)

Austin is so intrigued with my Belly, here he is "patting" it and saying "baby," something he does all throughout the day, it's so cute ;)

Sharing a laugh together :)

Mommy and Me!
Austin is sure going to miss his nice little seat on my pregnant belly!

I can't believe in just a few days Brian and I will be parents of 2...well 3 counting Hunter!!! :)
We are so excited and will keep you posted as Monday is a very big day!!

Wounded Knee...

The other day Austin took quite a tumble on the concrete and skinned his upper lip and knees pretty good!  It was his first real "owie" that had me cringe a little (I have the weakest stomach when it comes to bleeding owies!!), and I am sure it's not going to be the last!!  Good thing he is a brave little boy, he was more interested in checking out his new owies than crying!  His lip didn't take long to heal at all (the way it was bleeding I thought we were in for a scar for sure...thankfully it didn't end up that way!), but his knees still have scabs on them, which at least 5 or more times a day he points to and says: "Ow, Momma, Ow!!" and gets a really sad face like they hurt even though they are practically healed!!  It is too funny!!  So dramatic!!

Austin checking out the "owie's" on his knees!

This was a few hours after his fall and Austin was showing us his owies...if you look closely you can see the one on his upper lip too!  He is very proud of his battle wounds from his encounter with the ground!!

"Owie momma, owie!!"

Boys will be boys!
The first of many owies I am sure ;)
