Earthquake!

We just experienced our first California earthquake!!  And Austin and Hunter just experienced their first one ever!  Holy cow, it scared the socks off me!!  Austin was looking at me like what the heck was that, and Hunter just started barking every which way like crazy!!  Whew!! We are all OK, just a bit rattled :)  A few aftershocks are still rumbling here and there, and personally I am ready for them to go away!  Now I just need to go figure out where the gas shut off valve is just in case...

Dodger Family Day 2008!

What a fun day!  The Dodgers hosted Family Day today, and we all got to go down onto the field after the game (which we won by the way!) and let the the kids run around and play ball with their dads :)  It was too cute!!  Austin had a blast running around in the big open space and of course chasing after all of the baseballs everywhere :)  They had a lot of entertainment for the kids; bounce houses, water balloon tosses, face painters, wiffle ball games...and plenty games of catch :)  Austin loved the pitchers mound, he climbed up and down it and even threw a few "pitches" off of it ;)

Every so often, I look over at Hunter and just have to laugh.  The poor guy's fur has become a magnet for the food that Austin decides to throw from his high chair signaling he is "all done."  It's too funny, Hunter just sits so patiently at the base of the high chair looking up at Austin, like come on man, please just one crumb my way!!  And then bam!!  Austin throws food bullets at Hunter and they just burrow in his fur!!  I just looked over at Hunter and he has about 3 soggy Kix stuck on his thighs and some banana mush on his head!  This happens all the time, sometimes it's rice, sometimes it's pasta.  And sometimes I don't see it right away and will be petting Hunter and be like, oh, sorry guy, that was from 2 days ago!!!  It must torture him, because he knows their is food on him and he can't reach it to eat it :)

Long Time No Post!!

I know, it's been a long, long while!! So sorry for not posting in forever, we have been very busy driving back and forth between 3 states over the last few weeks!

Austin and I had such a great time visiting Brian in LA and watching him play in Dodger Stadium! Brian pitched awesome while we were there, we are so proud of him! Austin absolutely LOVED everything about Dodger Stadium...the lights, the crowd, the noise, the beach balls bouncing in the stands, the peanut guy and his fancy throwing capabilities, the wave, the airplanes that would fly over the stadium!!

He was just in awe, and you know what also was so great about Dodger Stadium?! Unlike in the minor leagues, they have a family room for the kids on the team where they can go and play when they need a little more stretching room then the one foot by one foot space you get in your seats!!! He had a blast there, running around with a bunch of kids and playing with all new toys. I think he fell in love with a mini bounce house they had filled with colorful balls, he was always in it!!

So much has happened since Brian got called up, and now that I have a little down time (Brian just left for a road trip to Colorado and we have 2 days at home before we head back to LA), I can finally take some time to get back into blogging mode!!

Here's a quick run down of the last month:

We just spent the last week back at our house in AZ. It was SO nice being home again. Brian, Austin and I got to drive back from LA together for the All Star break which actually was 4 days instead of the usual 3, for they had a day off right after it!! Lucky us!! And then to top it off, the Dodgers opened up at the Arizona Diamondbacks, so we got to spend 3 more days at home!! We got spoiled :) The All Star break was awesome, we got to spend time with our good friends and just relax at home as a family :)

Before that, my mom flew down to Las Vegas to help us move (for the bazillionth time!!) out of our apartment and get both cars and all of our stuff back to AZ until we knew where to go next. It was ridiculous how much "stuff" we had accumulated while being there! We celebrated the 4th of July at Mandy and John's house here in AZ and got to see some good fireworks from their backyard :) Once we got word Brian would be in LA for a little bit, we drove out there for the week to see him play :) (Hunter got to spend the week at the Puppy Hotel!) My mom got to see Dodger Stadium and Brian play in the Majors for the first time, it was very exciting. Thanks mom for all of your help!

Austin is absolutely infatuated with sports balls right now...baseballs, bouncy balls, volleyballs, footballs, he always, always has one in his hand and is either trying to throw it or hit it with a bat or something that resmebles one (ie: remote control or sippy cup). I can't go anywhere without bringing along a bat and a ball :)

Along the way of this busy month, I officially stopped nursing Austin. It was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be, but man I looked like I had two bowling balls on steriods strapped to my chest for a while there!! Ouch!! :) Austin also had three more teeth erupt though, and I think more are on the way. His poor gums are just taking a beating, I feel so bad for him!

I also got pulled over for my very first time and was issued a speeding ticket in Las Vegas (shame on me!)...the day before we left mind you!!! Grrrr!!!! He wasn't very nice, Austin and I were both crying in the car, and all the cop had to say was, "wow, it looks like everyone in this car is crying." I wasn't getting out of that one!! But thankfully I can take an online driving course and it won't go on my record :) Whew!! Lesson learned.

Well that's it. Sorry we were away for so long!! :)

He got the call!!

Just wanted to let everyone know that Brian got called up to LA today!!  Way to go Brian!!  We are so proud of you Bri and can't wait to see you in Dodger Blue!  We are packing our bags this very second so we can get out there and cheer you on!!

Just promise us you will throw better than this!! :)

Bed Head!

I think it's time for another haircut!  Austin woke up with some major bed head this morning.  Poor Austin, it seems you got your Daddy's serious morning fly aways and cowlics!!

He even wakes up happy!  He still has sleepy eyes and the first thing Austin wants to do in the morning is play with his bat and ball!!

Are you serious?!

I just have to vent for a second.  I just got back from filling up our Sequoia at the gas station and it cost me $97.00 to fill up our tank!!!  Are you kidding me!!  I had to look twice at my receipt!  I couldn't believe it!!  And I even went to Costco which is the cheapest around!! I can't even imagine how much people are paying in California and some of the other more expensive states!!  Wow.  That just stinks!!!  It makes me want to trade in our Toyota SUV for a Toyota Prius.  Sorry for being Debby Downer, but seriously what a buzz kill!!!
