Every season, one of Brian's teammates, Matsunaka, hosts a great BBQ at his home here in Fukuoka. All of the "gaijin" or foreign players on the team are invited, as well as a bunch of the other teammates and Matsunaka's friends. We look forward to this night every summer, it's so much fun hanging out with people from the team on a night that doesn't involve baseball!! They go all out for this BBQ, people are cooking food non-stop on the grills, kids are running around everywhere playing, watermelon smashing contests take place, you name it, it's a fun night! Even some crazy rain later in the night didn't stop us from enjoying the evening, we just moved indoors and took the celebration inside! It was so much fun hanging out, thank you Matsunaka!!

The watermelon smashing contest begins!
Someone gets blindfolded, spun around while their nose is pressed to a baseball bat on the the ground, then directed (in Japanese mind you!) to a watermelon that is about 6 feet away, and has to use the bat to smash the watermelon open! It's hilarious watching this!
One of the guys on the team getting spun around!
He found the watermelon...now let's see if he can smash it!
