4th of July for us almost didn't happen...it literally rained the entire 4th here in Japan, and I mean a lot of rain!! Brian and the team were away playing an 11 day road trip, so all us girls decided to plan a fun 4th on the beach...let the kids play in the sand, eat dinner on the balcony of one of the restaurants on the boardwalk called "Mama Mia," sparklers on the beach after...you know, a fun outdoors 4th of July!!
Well, the weather had a different plan for us that day, it literally rained so hard the entire day, we almost had to scratch our plans entirely! Thankfully, we didn't let it stop us, and went anyways, just moved our dinner party to the inside of the restaurant and then with a little luck, the weather cleared just long enough to play on the beach for a bit after and light a few sparklers!! The kids had a blast running around and it was a really fun dinner with our good friends here!! So not exactly the way we planned it, but it all worked out in the end and was a really fun night!

Of course the next day was as sunny as can be!! (Kind of reminds me growing up in Seattle!) The kids were finally able to break out their cool 4th of July shades!
