Layover...

One flight down, one to go!! We officially made it to Tokyo!! We survived the LONG flight from Seattle and are currently waiting at the airport for our next flight which will take us to Fukuoka...and to Brian!! The kids were amazing, they did so good, it did not feel like we were on the plane for almost 11 hours! I was so proud of them! Austin hasn't slept a wink yet...I don't know how he's still going!! He is having so much fun though, and keeps saying "We in Japan Mom-Mom, we in Japan!" He knows it won't be much longer until he sees his Daddy again! Brooke was so good too, she took a great nap on the plane and is currently crashed out on two chairs put together in the Japan Airlines Lounge! I wish I had my camera cord with me to post some cute pics from the journey! We have to wait at the airport for 4 more hours before our next flight...we can't wait to get there already! Almost there...we are so excited!!!

The day has come!!

Our bags are all packed (5 bags, 2 car seats, 2 strollers (1 single & 1 double) and 2 carry ons, sorry Brian!)...we shipped over as much stuff from the U.S. that we possibly could (seriously, I think we bought out Target!)...and we couldn't be more excited to go see Brian! After 3 months of being apart, we are finally going to be together as a family again!

Oh how we are looking forward to that LONG flight!! Please keep your fingers crossed it goes smooth and the kids are good!! If not, we now know from the picture below that Brooke clearly fits in Austin's carryon and if for any reason she acts up, we can put her in it and stow her away!! (Thankfully I have lots of extra hands to help me...my Mom and Dad are coming with us!)

Adios Folks...or should I say Sayonara!!! We are off to go see my Dadda!! YAY!!!!

Brooke's 1st Birthday Party...

We had a great time at Brooke's first birthday party. We learned from Austin's first birthday that the party is really more for the parents than the kid. Austin was so overwhelmed at his, we decided to scale it down a bit for Brooke and just have a low key get together! It also worked out to be a little farewell party as we were leaving for Japan just a few days later!! We also snuck in a little Happy Birthday cake for Austin too, as he turned 3 just a month later...we wanted him to have a little party with family too!

We had it up in Washington at my parents house (thanks mom and dad!), and it was such a beautiful day out, we couldn't have asked for better weather! We celebrated with a morning brunch; my mom even made her famous homemade buttermilk pancakes...yummm! Brooke was dressed in the most girly, frilly, pink outfit...our little girl only turns one once, I had to do it up ;) Brian is already panicking about Prom dresses after seeing that getup, his little tomboy sure loves the girly stuff too!

Just like her brother, Brooke wasn't too crazy about her cake. But it was a great morning, spent with some wonderful family and friends and we just owe everyone who came, helped and celebrated our little girl's first birthday with us a big thank you ;)
